Car Licences

With a car licence, you can drive any automobile up to 4/5 tonnes, with manual and automatic versions of the licence. Once you hit the age of 80, you are required to do a medical and driving test once a year. If you would like to book an aged driver test on the Central Coast, call our team.

LR Licence

AWe offer training for a range of rigid vehicles as follows:



  • Light Rigid Licence: Drivers can use any vehicle up to 8 tonnes with a single axle
  • Medium Rigid Licence: Drivers can use any truck up to approximately 15 tonnes
  • Heavy Rigid Licence: Drivers can use any rigid vehicle with 3 or more axles. Different combinations of possible tonne loads accepted (more than 22 tonnes) 
  • Heavy Combination HC Licence: HC Combination Licences are used for semi-trailers and pig trailers, as well as truck and trailer combinations

Bus Licence

Bus driving requires a specific licence type, due to the fact that you are carrying other passengers. We offer the Bus Driver Authority Course to ensure you have the knowledge, skills and qualifications to safely carry passengers.

Frequently Asked QuestionsE

Can I book my forklift lesson on the Central Coast?

This needs to be done through an RTO (Registered Training Organisation). To book your forklift test with ABC Driving School, talk to your employer about which RTO they use and have them book an appointment!

What do I need for forklift licence eligibility?

To be eligible for a forklift licence, you must be assessed as competent by a Workcover accredited assessor (through an RTO). On top of this, you must be at least 18 years of age, able to speak English at a level that enables safe performance of HRW (high-risk work and undertake a recognised course of training. You also have to apply to WorkCover for a high-risk work licence.

What is DARE?

DARE stands for Drive and Rider Education. ABC Driving School Central Coast is linked with DARE—a Registered Training Organisation. DARE offers training to become a driving instructor, driving assessor or heavy vehicle driver, with a flexible training schedule that runs continuously.
